Audience: Adult Beginner Woodworkers with little or no experience
Problem: WoodTowne home improvement store hosts free workshops on weekends. Workshop classes are consistently running over time, and the occurrence of customer injuries is very high.
Solution: Registered workshop attendees are required to take the course and pass prior to attending the workshop. This will help reduce customer workshop injuries by 80% and enable 90% of workshop classes to finish within the scheduled time frame.
Tools used: Articulate Storyline 360, Canva, Gimp, FastStone Capture
Highlights: Scenario-based questions, variables, triggers, hotspots, infographics, drag and drop assessment, layers, states, motion-paths, avatar-character animations, and free form scenario-based quiz.
Process: Reviewed statistics on accidents, injuries, and overtime occurrences in beginner workshops over a period of 6 months. Investigated the types of accidents and preventative methods for each. A design document was created and approved based on the information gathered to outline the business goal, business problem, target audience, and learning objectives of the course. Storyboarding was used to create a blueprint for the course. Upon receiving Storyboard approval, the course was developed and administered to learners.
